Who is behind it?
Webspesialisten AS has provided hosting and server operations since 1998. Among other things, the company offers dedicated servers with operations included, SMTP servers for businesses, file servers and IT operations, from data centres in Oslo.
When you run servers and networks for many customers, keeping track of IP addresses is part of everyday work. ipmanager was built from that experience.
Why we built ipmanager
Most IT teams start with a spreadsheet for IP addresses. It works for a while – until the network grows, several people need to update the same sheet, and nobody knows which version is right or who changed what.
We wanted a tool that is as quick to look things up in as a spreadsheet, but knows what a subnet is, shows free addresses, logs every change and can be kept up to date automatically. It had to be serious and clear – built for people who run networks – and simple enough that those who don't do it every day get help segmenting their network properly.
